Experiments around the Galta chair

In the Galta collection, the chair is the signature piece. Inspired by a bistro, it was designed by the SCMP design duo, Sébastien Cluzel and Morgane Pluchon, in a very short time.

At the time of its realization in the Atelier Kanaan, the duo took advantage of a test production with some manufacturing imperfections to enter into an experimentation session. The designers then decided to catch up in time and test other forms of backrests and legs, not hesitating to cut out the Galta chair and play on the idea of 3D collage. "We have made three models for the moment, says Sébastien Cluzel, but we want to continue this experimentation as soon as time permits, so that we can see all the possibilities of modification."

With this phase of experiments and desires that is just beginning, the duo takes the time to research by asking the question, with playfulness, what is a chair.
